What is The Real Dads brand?

The Real Dads is a Brooklyn-rooted lifestyle brand built for fathers who show up every day. We make premium dad hats, garment-dyed tees, crewnecks, and accessories that celebrate everyday fatherhood — not the Hallmark version.

We're based in Brooklyn, New York, with roots specifically in Bed-Stuy. Our products are designed in Brooklyn and operated by 9tofive LLC.

Is The Real Dads Black-owned?

Yes. The Real Dads is a Black-owned brand operated by 9tofive LLC, based in New York.

What does RDOB stand for?

RDOB stands for Real Dads of Brooklyn — our foundational collection celebrating dads from the borough. RMOB stands for Real Moms of Brooklyn, our companion collection.

Sizing & Materials

How does your sizing run?

Our heritage tees and crewnecks are relaxed-fit. We recommend ordering your usual size for a relaxed look, or sizing down if you prefer a closer fit. Caps are one-size with adjustable closure (snapback or strapback depending on the style).

What materials do you use?

Heritage tees are 100% combed cotton (6.2 oz). Crewnecks are 80/20 cotton/polyester (9.5 oz). All garment-dyed pieces use OEKO-TEX certified low-impact dyes. Caps are 100% cotton twill with embroidered or woven detail.

How should I care for garment-dyed cotton?

Wash cold, inside out, with similar colors. Tumble dry low or hang dry. Garment-dyed pieces are designed to soften and develop character over time — that lived-in feel is the point.

Shipping & Returns

What's your shipping policy?

Free shipping over $100. Orders typically ship within 1-3 business days from Brooklyn. Standard delivery is 3-7 business days within the US.

What's your return policy?

We accept returns on unworn, unwashed merchandise within 30 days of delivery. See our refund policy for full details.

Wholesale & Restocks

Do you do wholesale?

Yes. We work with independent retailers, barbershops, gift stores, and lifestyle boutiques through Faire. Shop our wholesale line at therealdads.faire.com.

Do you restock sold-out items?

We restock our core line (Snapback Cap, RDOB and RMOB staples). Limited-edition drops like the Tennis Club Heritage Collection are released in small runs and may not restock. Sign up for our mailing list to hear about restocks first.
