Our pieces are built to be worn — every day, for years. A few simple steps will help them age gracefully and develop that lived-in character we love.
Garment-Dyed Tees and Crewnecks

Garment-dyed pieces are washed AFTER they're sewn and dyed, which gives them their softness and signature color depth from day one. Treat them right and they'll only get better.
- Wash cold, inside out, with similar colors
- Use mild detergent — skip bleach and harsh chemicals
- Tumble dry low, OR hang dry for best longevity
- Iron inside out if needed, on a low setting
What to expect: your garment-dyed pieces will soften with every wash and develop subtle character. That's the point. Avoid hot water and high heat, which fade color faster than necessary.
Embroidered Caps
Snapback Cap, Tennis Club Caps, RDOB Caps, Bed-Stuy Dad Caps
Caps with embroidered detail need a gentler touch than tees.
- Hand wash with cool water and mild detergent
- Spot clean stains as soon as possible
- Never put a cap in the dryer — heat warps the brim
- Air dry on a clean surface; reshape the crown while damp if needed
- Avoid throwing caps in the washing machine — agitation can damage stitching
Screen-Printed Tees and Long Sleeves

Screen-printed graphics last longest when you treat them with care.
- Always wash inside out
- Cold water, gentle cycle
- Tumble dry low or hang dry
- Never iron directly on the print — turn the garment inside out first
Totes
Involved Auntie Tote
Our totes are 100% washed cotton, 12-oz weight.
- Machine wash cold, on its own (the structured handles can snag delicate fabrics)
- Tumble dry low or hang dry
- Reshape while damp
- The longer you carry it, the more character it gets
A Note on Materials
We use OEKO-TEX certified low-impact dyes, salt-free. That means lower environmental impact AND less risk of irritation against skin. Combined with garment-dyeing and embroidery, our pieces are built to last — but they're not indestructible. Treat them well and they'll repay the favor.
